Facilities and capabilities

Murdoch University has dedicated a 1660 m2 two-storey building, located on its Rockingham campus, to house laboratories, offices, and pilot plant facilities for the Centre’s researchers and industry partners.

Rockingham Desalination Research Facility

The National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia boasts a world-class desalination pilot-scale testing facility that allows researchers and industry to performance test novel and improved desalination technologies and processes at pilot scale and allows industry to validate commercial products, integrate currently deployed technology and evaluate potential technology options. It is flexible, modular in design for testing multiple novel technologies, and it highly instrumented for researcher efficiency, scalability and reliability of results.

Through the resources and capabilities built in the pilot-scale testing and research facility, the NCEDA provides commercial testing and research services to water utilities, the desalination industry, government, engineering consultants and industrial desalination users. Unique pilot scale research facilities, 15 adjacent laboratories and offices are available to industry for product development and testing.
