Showcase lifts the lid on latest research

Posted on 6 July 2012

The Centre’s first Desalination Research Showcase was held at the Rockingham Desalination Research Facility in June, highlighting three important projects under way.

Professor Linda Zou from University of South Australia spoke on her project “Developing Highly Conductive Graphene Electrodes for Capacitive Desalination”; Dr Hokyong Shon from University of Technology Sydney spoke on his project “Fertilisers as draw solutes for forward osmosis desalination: A novel approach for fertigation in the Murray Darling Basin”; and Dr Trevor Pryor, Murdoch University spoke on his project “Tjuntjunjarra remote island indigenous community solar/waste energy groundwater desalination project”.

Research Advisory Committee member, GHD’s Gary Crisp, and Chief Scientific Officer Professor David Furukawa, provided insight and stimulated discussion during a public debate.

Presentation slides from the showcase are available to download (7 MB PDF).
